Urdu-Bengali teachers should be protected from termination: Shohaib

Patna, Oct 4 (UNI) Bihar Legislative Council member Qari Mohammad Shohaib today urged Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary to keep Urdu and Bengali special teachers out of the ongoing process of termination of services and order a separate review of their cases.
In a letter to the Chief Minister, Shohaib sought protection for the teachers facing action under Primary Education Director''s letter dated October 1. He said their appointments were made in 2015-16 as a continuation of the recruitment process initiated in 2014, on the basis of court orders and departmental directives.
Shohaib said the teachers had contributed to the state''s education system for several years. Many of them had undergone training and cleared the competency examination to become specialised teachers, while some had subsequently been appointed as head teachers and school teachers through the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC), he said.
The Council member said termination of their services would affect the future of their families and also adversely impact the system of Urdu and Bengali education in schools.
He urged the Chief Minister to conduct a separate legal review of the matter, issue clear directions and protect the concerned teachers from any adverse action until the issue is resolved. UNI RS SAS
