Visit the field level for effective implementation of water supply scheme: Minister Patil

Mumbai, May 27 (UNI) Minister for Water Supply and Sanitation Gulabrao Patil on Tuesday directed that officers should visit the field for effective implementation of the water supply scheme.
It is important to go to the spot to verify whether the implementation of various water supply schemes of the government are being done properly. Also, it is the responsibility of the concerned officers to ensure that the citizens get clean water, he said.
He was speaking in a review meeting was held in the Mantralaya on the issues raised in the meeting of the Union Jal Shakti Minister in Delhi.
Minister Patil said that due to these visits, the difficulties faced in the schemes, the errors in implementation, as well as the needs at the local level can be directly reviewed and the necessary improvements can be made immediately.
Also, at this time, the problems should be known by discussing with the local public representatives. A team from the center will visit six schemes of the Maharashtra Life Authority in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar division. Accordingly, the concerned department should be prepared.
A review of the tap water supply scheme under the Jaljeevan Mission program was conducted in Pimpri Akaraut village of Muktainagar taluka. Also, 198 tap water supply schemes in Jalgaon district have received permission from Mahavitaran for connection.

The work of the remaining water supply schemes should be accelerated. Also, the information about the work done on the Gatishakt portal should be filled immediately, Minister Patil suggested.
