Women themselves need to change their mindsets: Social activist Anjali Damania

Pune, June 26 (UNI) The mindset of spending more on children's education and girls' marriage should change and If parents spend the most on daughters' academics, women will stand on their own feet, said leading social worker Anjali Damania today.
She said if women are given good education, atrocities on women will decrease. changing the mindset about women should start with women only she said.
Women should not stand against women but should unite and raise their voice against atrocities on women; they should show their strength, this was the theme of the seminar organized at Balgandharva Rangmandir on topic of 'How safe and strong are women today.
On the second day of the 57th anniversary of Balgandharva Rangmandir, a seminar titled 'How safe and strong are women today - whether they are free or in the shadow' was organised by the Balgandharva Parivar Trust.

Social worker Anjali Damania, actress Deepali Syed and Bhumata Brigade President Trupti Desai participated in seminar and many issues were discussed including Vaishnavi Hagavane dowry case to the Dhananjay Munde marriage case.

Damania said, in every house, girls are taught to cook while boys are asked to study. In fact, our mindset should change there. It is necessary to first understand that girls are no less than boys. The women in the house should accept this first.
Trupti Desai said, when it comes to women empowerment, women must also be the decision makers. Unfortunately, when women oppose women, it is men who make their decisions.
