Writers’ Building renovation to be completed before Mahalaya, says PWD minister

Kolkata, Sep 30 (UNI) West Bengal Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Ajay Kumar Poddar said on Wednesday that preparations were underway to facilitate the return of Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari’s office and some ministerial departments to the historic Writers’ Building, with the renovation work expected to be completed before Mahalaya.
“The chief minister has not officially told us the date of his returning back to the Writers’ Building but we are making full preparations and it will be ready before Mahalaya,” Poddar told The Statesman.
“We have been given some responsibilities so that the chief minister’s office and some departments with the ministers can shift to Writers’ Building. The work is in full swing and we will finish it before October 9. Now, when the chief minister wants, he will come back,” he said.
