Yet another Low Pressure area forms over bay, to intensify further, may become Cyclone

Chennai, Oct 29 (UNI) A fresh Low Pressure areas has formed over the Bay, the fourth in succession, on Thursday morning, which was expected to intensify further and the possibility of concentrating into a Cyclone and hitting Chennai coast by November 1-2 was not ruled out.
If this system over the South Andaman sea and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal intensifies into a Cyclone, unlike the Very Severe Cyclonic Storm Arnab which moved away towards the Andhra Pradesh coast without hitting Tamil Nadu, there was a likelihood of it crossing the North Tamil Nadu coast close to Chennai.
This is the fourth back to back system to form over the bay ever since the onset of Northeast Monsoon which remained active and vigorous. The first system formed over Arabian sea and the second over South Coastal Tamil Nadu brought heavy to very rains in various parts of the state. The third system developed into Cyclonic Storm Arnab, which had crossed the Andhra Pradesh coast yesterday morning.
After athe present brief lull, the new Low Pressure was expected to revive the rainfall activity, with the showers, according to private weather bloggers, likely to be heavy in North coastal Tamil Nadu including Chennai and adjoining districts from November one. If the system strengthens into a cyclone, there is a possibility of it making landfall along the coast between Chennai and Andhra Pradesh, potentially bringing heavy to very heavy rainfall to Chennai on November 1 and 2.
IMD in an update today morning said under the influence of an upper air cyclonic circulation over south Andaman Sea and neighbourhood in lower and middle tropospheric levels a Low Pressure has formed over the same region today.
"Under the influence of yesterday’s upper air cyclonic circulation over south Andaman Sea and neighbourhood, a Low Pressure area formed over the same region at 0530 hrs of today. It is very likely to move west-northwestwards and become a Well Marked Low Pressure Area over south Andaman Sea and adjoining Andaman and Nicobar Islands during the next 24 hours. Thereafter, continuing to move west-northwestwards, it is likely to concentrate into a Depression over southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Andaman Sea during the subsequent 24 hours", it said.
.
According to Regional Meteorological Centre, Chennai, Director VR Durai the system’s eventual track and direction could not be predicted accurately at this stage. “Before the system intensifies into a cyclone, it is difficult to determine precisely which direction it would take and how it would move. However, current weather models indicate that it could move towards Northern Tamil Nadu,” he said.
According to Independent weather blogger R.Hemachander, as per latest satellite imagery, a fresh low pressure area has formed over the Gulf of Thailand and adjoining sea. It is likely to emerge as a well
Writing on X today, he said the system is very likely to move west northwest towards North Tamil Nadu and adjoining South Andhra Pradesh coasts by early November (likley on November 1-2). This could revive the second round of Northeast Monsoon activity over the region after the temporary lull.
He said there is a very good chance for this system to intensify into a Depression and move west northwest towards North coastal Tamil Nadu and extreme south coastal Andhra Pradesh.
