Zee Classic to celebrate Prem Nath's 100th birth anniversary with special series

Mumbai, Nov 7 (UNI) Hindi cinema's veteran actor Prem Nath will be remembered through a month-long special programme, "Amar Premnath", as Zee Classic marks his 100th birth anniversary in November.
The special event will also feature a four-part documentary series, along with some of his memorable films.
Prem Nath carved a distinct identity in Hindi cinema with his strong personality, brilliant acting, and distinctive style. From gaining popularity as a hero early in his career to establishing his prowess in character roles, he played many memorable characters.
Premnath, who has redefined his acting with changing times, still holds a special place among cinephiles. Produced by his son, Monty Nath, the four-part documentary series "Amar Premnath" will present various aspects of the actor's life, his film journey, and his legacy. This special program will air every Saturday at 11:30 a.m. starting November 7. It will be followed by a screening of one of his most popular films at 12 noon.
As part of the program, the first part of the documentary series will be telecast on November 7, followed by the film "Desh Premi." The second part of the series and the film "Roti Kapda Aur Makaan" will be telecast on November 14. The third part will be telecast on November 21, on the occasion of Premnath's 100th birth anniversary, followed by his popular film "Bobby." The film "Kalicharan" will be shown along with the final part of the series on November 28.
Veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha, remembering Premnath, said he had seen all his films and always admired his acting. He said, "His performances in 'Barsaat,' 'Rustom Sohrab,' and 'Aan' were superb. The most remarkable thing about Premnath was that whatever he did, he did it in his own style. He was a completely original artist. He never imitated anyone, nor did he feel inferior standing in front of any other artist. Even the best actors would feel inferior in front of him."
This special edition of Zee Classic through "Amar Premnath" will not only provide an opportunity to revisit Premnath's brilliant acting but will also introduce the new generation of audiences to his contribution to Hindi cinema and his rich legacy.
