Haryana Police help two cyber fraud victims recover Rs 61,200 in Hisar

Panchkula, Sep 18 (UNI) Haryana Police have helped two victims of separate cyber fraud cases in Hisar recover a total of Rs 61,200 after the Cyber Crime Police Station acted on their complaints and coordinated with the concerned banking channels, a police spokesman said on Friday.
The spokesman said the action was taken by the Hisar Cyber Crime Police Station team under the direction of Superintendent of Police Siddhant Jain and the supervision of Assistant Superintendent of Police Mayank Mudgil, as part of the Haryana Police's ongoing campaign against cybercrime.
In the first case, complainant Lav Kumar was allegedly defrauded of Rs 21,200 in a cyber transaction. He subsequently lodged an online complaint.
Acting on the complaint, the cyber police coordinated with the bank and other concerned financial channels to trace the transaction and initiate the process to recover the money. The efforts resulted in the entire Rs 21,200 being credited back to the victim's account, the spokesman said.
In a separate case, a complainant associated with Vidya Devi Jindal School allegedly lost Rs 40,000 in an online cyber fraud.
After receiving the complaint, the Cyber Crime Police Station initiated steps through the banking channel to trace and secure the amount. The entire Rs 40,000 was subsequently restored to the victim's account, police said.
Both victims thanked the Hisar Police and the Cyber Crime Police Station team after receiving the money back, the spokesman added.
