No one can be allowed to violate sanctity of Holy Mosque: Maulana Atif Sanabli

Mumbai, Sep 16 (UNI) Expressing deep concern over alerts issued amid the threat of missile and drone attacks by the Houthi militia in and around Makkah and other parts of Saudi Arabia, noted Islamic scholar and preacher Maulana Muhammad Atif Sanabli has strongly condemned such attacks and stressed that the sanctity and security of the holy sites must remain inviolable.
In a statement here, Maulana Sanabli, Chairman of Darul Hikmah, Mumbai unit, a well-known Islamic organisation, said Makkah was not merely a city but a sacred land whose sanctity had been ordained by Allah, and any attempt to expose it to fear, violence or aggression was deeply serious and unacceptable.
Quoting the Quranic verse, he said the sanctity of Makkah and the Holy Mosque was divinely ordained, and its protection was a matter of faith for Muslims.
Referring to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), he said political, regional or military differences could not justify terrorising innocent civilians, targeting populated areas or endangering the security of sacred places.
“Islam upholds the sanctity of human life, peace and the dignity of holy places,” he said.
Maulana Sanabli said the security of the Haramain Sharifain was not merely the concern of any one country or region, but a matter deeply connected with the faith and sentiments of Muslims across the world.
He urged Muslim countries and the international community to play an effective role in promoting peace and stability in the region, while keeping the safety of sacred sites and innocent civilians above political and military disputes.
He also appealed to Islamic scholars, Muslim governments and responsible international organisations to discharge their responsibilities towards safeguarding the sanctity of the Haramain and unequivocally condemn any action that could endanger holy sites or innocent lives.
Maulana Sanabli concluded with prayers for the protection of Makkah and Madinah from every danger, calamity and conspiracy, and for peace, security and unity across Saudi Arabia and the Muslim world. UNI AAA SAS
