100 new beds added in medicine ward of (NMCH):Mangal Pandey

Patna, May 17 (UNI) Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey said that a separate ward was being constructed in Patna and informed that 100 new beds have been added in the medicine ward of Nalanda Medical College Hospital (NMCH).
Pandey said here on Saturday that the new ward has been constructed at an expenditure of Rs 750 lakh. The new ward would also solve the issue of waterlogging during the rainy season inside the ward.
The Minister said that remarkable achievements have been made in the health sector during the past 20 years in Bihar and added that with the addition of new 100 beds the total strength of the bed in the medicine department of NMCH increased to 228.
He said that 400 beds would be further added in the medicine ward of the NMCH which has currently the capacity of 1189 beds. All required medical facilities were available at each and every bed, he said and informed that the responsibilities of cleanliness and food for the patients have been given to the Jivika didi following which the quality of services have improved.
The Minister said that in terms of supply of medicines Bihar was continuously at the top for the past 8 months and informed that 496 types of medicines were available at NMCH.
Pandey said that Tuberculosis Treatment University was also being constructed in Kadamkuan of the state capital at an expenditure of Rs 204.44 crore.
