Air warning issued in Chandigarh amid India-Pak tension

Chandigarh, May 9 (UNI) Amid heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, an air warning indicating a possible aerial threat was received from the Air Force Station here on Friday, Deputy Commissioner of Chandigarh said.

In response, air raid sirens were sounded across the city as a precautionary measure. Residents have been advised to remain indoors and avoid open areas such as balconies and terraces until further notice.

"An air warning has been received from the Air Force Station of a possible attack. Sirens are being sounded. All are advised to remain indoors and away from balconies," the Deputy Commissioner said in an official statement.

Security has been stepped up at key installations, and authorities are closely monitoring the situation. Further information is awaited from defence and civil agencies.
