Andhra unveils new land pooling rules for capital region development

Vijayawada, July 3 (UNI) In a significant move aimed at accelerating planned development and fostering economic growth, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has officially notified new Land Pooling Scheme (LPS) Rules for the Capital Region.
These Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Land Pooling Scheme (Formulation and Implementation) Rules, 2025 formalized via GO Ms. No.118, MAUD(CRDA) Department, dated July 1, 2025, are designed to be citizen-friendly, transparent, and technology-integrated, said S Suresh Kumar, Principal Secretary to Government, Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department.

The new regulations come amidst a backdrop of rapid expansion in Capital City Amaravati, which is already witnessing swift execution of infrastructure and Developmental activities. This growth is anticipated to profoundly impact surrounding rural areas, leading to the formation of new urban settlements, satellite towns, and urban agglomerations.

The government emphasises the critical need for investment in urban infrastructure and services to transform these cities into powerful engines of development, capable of lifting millions out of poverty and ensuring long-term economic success, said S Suresh Kumar. UNI DP SSP
