Ashima Brar appointed in-charge of Gurugram, PC Meena of Nuh district

Chandigarh, Apr 30 (UNI) The Haryana government has appointed commissioner and secretary
of cooperation department and managing director of Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited,
(HVPNL) Ashima Brar as in-charge of Gurugram.
Rohtak Divisional Commissioner Phool Chand Meena has been appointed in-charge of Nuh district.
The two officials will have the current responsibilities in addition to their present assignments.
According to an order issued by chief secretary Anurag Rastogi, both these officers will review
vigilance cases in respect of projects costing Rs 25 crore and above, incidents of crime and heinous crime, and approval under Section 17A and 19 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
They will also review the effectiveness and functioning of the service delivery system as per the provisions of
the Right to Service Act, parameters of functioning of health, education and social sectors, obstacles faced by DETC in relation to taxes and GST.
Apart from this, they will also interact with MLAs and other public representatives in the presence of deputy commissioner and superintendent of police.

Phagwara, Apr 30 (UNI) SSP HS Virk has suspended SHO Lakhvir Singh and an ASI Dharmindar Singh of Mehatpur district Jalandhar for allegedly compelling two teenaged boys in police custody "to perform indecent acts with each other". The Ambedkar Dalit Sena has strongly protested against the incident and is demanding that an FIR under the SC/ST Act be registered against the two police officials.
