Hyderabad, May 13 (UNI Rajya Sabha Member and National President of the BC Welfare Association, R Krishnaiah, has demanded that the Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana take urgent steps to fill backlog vacancies reserved for BC, SC, and ST communities.
Addressing an unemployed youth meeting at BC Bhavan in Vidyanagar, held under the chairmanship of AP OBC Association President Angirekula Varaprasad Yadav and 1998 DSC Remaining Candidates Association President Srinivas Yadav, Krishnaiah called out both state governments for their lax approach toward social justice and inclusive governance.
Krishnaiah said both state governments have shown negligence in filling the BC, SC, and ST backlog posts and urged the Chief Ministers to pay special attention to the issue.
He demanded the public release of department-wise vacancy data and called for a transparent and immediate recruitment process to fill all such posts. He also urged Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Nara Lokesh to ensure justice for the 1,482 reserved category candidates from the 1998 DSC batch by implementing proper reservation rules under the Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) recruitment method.
Krishnaiah pointed out that no Group-1 posts have been filled in either state over the last 10 years, and that Group-2 posts have gone six years without any recruitment notifications. Even in previous recruitments, the full direct recruitment quota was not met, he said, calling for a proper calculation of posts based on the number of retirements and promotions that occurred during the period.
He further stated that Group-4 level posts, particularly junior assistant posts in district and lower-level offices, have not been filled for nearly 25 years, with recruitment largely restricted to Secretariat and Directorate levels. While some district-level posts have been included in the recent Group-IV notifications, the number remains insufficient. He stressed the need for a comprehensive assessment and filling of vacancies across all districts.
The meeting was also attended by Neela Venkatesh, Sanjeev, Bairavakona Srinivas, Babayya Ramesh, Lalitha, Chinni Krishna, Rajasekhar, and Ramanjaneyulu, who echoed Krishnaiah's demand for a serious and immediate recruitment drive to address long-standing grievances of unemployed youth from marginalized communities.
