Bihar: Chief engineer Tarni dismissed after recovery of cash from his residence

Patna, Mar 28 (UNI) The Bihar Government on Friday dismissed chief engineer Tarni Das of Building Construction Department with immediate effect after recovery of huge cash and other movable assets were recovered from his locations during raid conducted by Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday.
Official sources said here that Tarni Prasad was appointed on contract basis as chief engineer after his retirement. A number of irregularities committed by him came to light during the investigation including cancellation of tender without completing the due process.
A show-cause notice was issued to Das asking him to make his stand clear on charges levelled against him, but he refused to reply to any notice.
