Hoshiarpur, Mar 31 (UNI) BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh on Monday launched a scathing attack on the AAP-led Punjab government, alleging administrative failures, corruption and financial mismanagement.
Chugh criticized the AAP government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, stating that it had lost
its credibility due to repeated failures in governance.
He pointed out that five Advocate Generals of Punjab had resigned in the past three years, which he claimed was due to government pressure on officials to engage in wrongful activities.
This, he asserted, was a clear indication of the administration’s failure to maintain transparency and integrity.
Raising concerns over stalled infrastructure projects, he condemned the delay in constructing medical colleges in Hoshiarpur and Kapurthala, despite the Centre allocating Rs 50 crore for each.
He accused the Punjab government of failing to utilize the funds provided by the central government for the state's development.
Chugh further alleged that despite promises to eradicate mafia activities, illegal mining and corruption had flourished under AAP’s rule.
He also questioned the government’s claim of increasing revenue by 20 percent and cracking down on the Transport mafia, stating that no visible action had been taken.
He criticized the Punjab government for failing to provide benefits under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana.
He claimed that even AAP workers were now raising allegations against their own leadership.
Chugh also alleged that leaders rejected in Delhi were now playing key roles in Punjab’s administration. He mentioned Vaibhav Kumar, who he claimed had assaulted a female Rajya Sabha member
of AAP, now holding a key role in Punjab’s governance.
He further claimed that corruption and gangsterism were at their peak in Punjab and that the people had begun discussing the need to oust AAP from the state.
He asserted that Punjab was ready to embrace BJP as an alternative government.
