Siwan, May 17 (UNI) Additional chief judicial magistrate (I) Arvind Kumar of Siwan ordered on Saturday to proclaim RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav in connection with violation of the model code of conduct during 2011 Bihar Assembly Elections.
Defying the repeated court orders, Yadav did not appear before the court following which a non-bailable warrant was also issued against him. Finally, the court ordered on Saturday to proclaim Yadav under Section 82 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
Yadav, the then Railway Minister and MP, had addressed an electoral rally in Daraunda assembly constituency in favour of his party candidate Parmeshwar Singh without administrative permission.
The then Circle officer Shankar Mahto had lodged a named FIR bearing No. 146 of 12011 at the Darunda police station against Yadav and the RJD candidate and former Mukhiya Parmeshwar Singh for violation of the model code of conduct and under the Noise Amplification Act.
None of the accused appeared before the court in connection with the case despite repeated orders issued by the court. The RJD candidate Parmeshwar Singh, in the meantime time died, and now the legal procedure is undergoing against Yadav in the court in connection with this case.
