Darjeeling MP Raju Bista slams Mamata Govt

Siliguri, Apr 24 (UNI) Member of Parliament from Darjeeling and BJP National Spokesperson Raju Bista on Thursday participated in a massive rally here to protest the West Bengal School Service Commission (SSC) and GTA Teachers’ Recruitment Scam.
Addressing the gathering, Bista welcomed the landmark decision by Calcutta High Court and Supreme Court that cancelled the appointment of over 25,753 teachers and non-teaching staff, calling it not just a verdict against corruption in recruitment but a strong indictment of the Trinamool Congress-led government in West Bengal.
“The state government deliberately withheld the list of legitimate candidates from the court to protect those who were illegally appointed through TMC’s corrupt network. As a result, thousands of deserving candidates and their families have been pushed into despair,” Bista stated.
Raising serious concerns, Bista asked four critical questions:
1. What happens to legitimate candidates who are now over the age limit?
2. Will they be allowed to reappear in the new recruitment process?
3. Will the state compensate those genuine candidates who are now ineligible due to age?
4. Will the state recover the salaries and benefits from the illegally recruited individuals?
Bista further slammed the Mamata Banerjee government for its alleged anti-Hindu stance. “In places like Malda and Murshidabad, Hindus are being attacked and forced to flee their homes. Yet, the Chief Minister has not visited the victims or taken any meaningful action. Instead, she’s busy blaming the BSF, the Centre, and even the victims themselves,” he added.
Drawing parallels with the exodus of Hindus from Kashmir in the 1990s, Bista said, “It is 2025 now, and Hindus across West Bengal and India are aware and awake. We will not allow such atrocities to continue under any government.”
Concluding his remarks, Bista demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, stating, “The greed and corruption of TMC leaders have destroyed Bengal’s education system. Those responsible must be brought to justice, starting with the Chief Minister herself.”
