Don't offer Eid namaz on streets, do not wear black bands: Maulana Shahabuddin

Bareilly (UP), Mar 30 (UNI) All India Muslim Jamaat (AIMJ) President Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi Barelvi on Sunday said that Muslims should not follow the appeal of the All India Muslim Personal Board (AIMPLB) to tie a black band on the hand on the day of Eid.
In a statement issued here, Maulana Razvi said, "Muslims should not follow this announcement. Do not tie a black band because this day is a day of happiness; do not turn the day of happiness into sorrow by tying a black band. Pray for the prosperity and progress of your country and family.
He said, "All the preparations for Eid are going on in full swing. I would appeal to all the Imams of Eidgah and mosques to make arrangements for Eid prayers cordially. Prayers should not be offered on the road."
He said, "In Eidgah and all mosques, it should be kept in mind that if the mosque is small and more people come to pray, in such a situation, the Shariat details the method that by changing the Imam in the mosque, a second or third jamaat can be held. Then there will be no need for the jamaat on the road. The reason for this is that when people start offering namaz on the road, the ambulance traffic and the movement of people stop, and they have to face problems."
Maulana Razvi said that Islam is a religion of hospitality and humanity, not of causing trouble to anyone. Citing the Hadith, he said that the Prophet of Islam said that a good Muslim is one whose hands, feet, and tongue do not cause harm to anyone, so namaz should not be read on the roads.
He said that everyone knows the political situation of the country. "So I will request Imam Hazrat not to make political matters an issue in his sermons on the day of Eid, leave these issues to the politicians and keep his sermons focused on stopping the evils spreading in the Muslim society. Follow the guidelines related to festivals issued by the government. And before the Eid namaz, earn sabab by giving Fitra money and grains to the poor and needy," he said.
