Five policemen injured in attack by villagers in Bihar

Patna, Mar 16 (UNI) Five policemen have sustained injuries in an attack by locals under the Antichak police station area in Bhagalpur district of Bihar.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of Kahalgaon Kalyan Anand said here on Sunday that based on a complaint, a police team of Antichak police station had rushed to Kasri village on Saturday night to control the heated alterations between two groups, which later turned violent. Soon after the police team reached the spot, locals started pelting stones at them causing injuries to five policemen, he added.

" All the injured policemen were rushed to a local government hospital for treatment ", Anand said adding that an FIR was lodged in this connection. Five people involved in the attack on policemen were arrested while raids were being carried out to nab others, he informed.

" Situation is well under control and strict vigil is being maintained on those who may try to disturb peace and order", the DSP stated.
