Hyd: Massive fire guts two showrooms in Chandanagar; hospital partially affected

Hyderabad, May 9 (UNI) A major fire broke out in Chandanagar on Friday evening, destroying two commercial establishments and partially affecting a nearby hospital.
The fire, which reportedly began due to a short circuit in the name board of the Centro showroom, quickly spread through the building and engulfed the adjacent RK Collection showroom.
The blaze also reached Womb Fertility Hospital next door, causing minor damage to air conditioning units. Patients and staff were safely evacuated. Fire safety pipes at the hospital failed to function, drawing criticism from emergency personnel.
Firefighters struggled to contain the blaze due to delays in arrival, water shortages, and traffic congestion on Chandanagar Main Road. Ten fire engines, including the Bahubali unit, worked for hours to douse the flames.
