Patna, June 2 (UNI) Jan Suraaj on Monday demanded immediate resignation of Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey after delay and negligence in treatment of rape victim which led to her death.
Bihar President of "Jan Suraaj " Manoj Bharti said here that death of a Dalit girl after rape due to delay and negligence in treatment, led to her death which was reflection of callous attitude of Nitish Kumar government. Health Minister Pandey should tender immediate resignation due to failure of the government in providing proper treatment to a rape victim, he added.
" A nine year Dalit girl was raped in Muzaffarpur on May 26 and offender had also caused serious injuries by attacking her with sharp edged weapon on twenty spots of her body ", Bharti said adding that she was treated in Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH) due to unavailability of required equipment. If the required equipment were not available in SKMCH, why was it not brought from Patna Medical College and Hospital(PMCH), he pointed out.
" Financial assistance of Rs one crore should be given to family members of the rape victim who died due to negligence of the government machinery", Jan Suraaj leader said, adding that there was no point for Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to claim that he had succeeded in establishing rule of law in Bihar.
