Kottayam Medical College building collapses, one woman dies, three injured

Kottayam, July 3 (UNI) A woman died and three others sustained injuries when a building block of Kottayam Medical College Hospital collapsed today.
The deceased was identified as Bindu (52), a native of Thalayolaparambu, Kottayam. The three injured are Aleena (11), Amal Pradeep (20) and Jinu Saji (38).
The woman was found trapped under the debris. She was pulled out after two hours due to delay of rescue operation. A portion of the three-story building adjacent to ward number 14 collapsed.
Two ministers, V N Vasavan and Veena George reached the accident site and stated that the
building which was not in use collapsed causing confusion leading to the delay of rescue
operation.
