Maha: Supreme Court Justice Varale highlights significance of Constitution

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Mar 29 (UNI) Supreme Court Justice Prasanna Varale on Saturday asserted that the Indian Constitution has given human value and dignity to the citizens of this country.
Speaking at inauguration ceremony of the Constitution Festival held on behalf of Mahatma Gandhi Mission (MGM) University here, he said that despite facing criticism about its relevance, the Indian Constitution, even today, after 75 years, is relevant to the times and is our guide, he said.
Speaking further, Justice Varale said the Preamble of the Constitution is the soul of the Constitution and every word of the Preamble is important.
The importance of the Preamble has been mentioned by many thinkers. Eminent Professor Ernest has rightly praised this Preamble in his book, 'Philosophy of Political Science', which he has dedicated to the Indian Constitution.
"However, the provisions of the Constitution that we all always talk about are the fundamental rights of the citizens and the guiding principles of the state. When the question of the fundamental rights of the citizens came up, it was also provided that the protection and preservation of fundamental rights would be the responsibility of the High Courts and the Supreme Court," he added.
