Displaced persons returning homes, Official inform Women Commission

Imphal, March 26 (UNI ): The Manipur State Commission for Women (MSCW) and Kakching District Administration, conducted a camp to assess the living conditions of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and related victims at DC Kakching Office Complex on Wednesday.
MSCW Chairperson Thumlip Tiningpham Monsang , N Dayabati Devi, Member MSCW and Sophia Moyon, Member, MSCW were informed by Deputy Commissioner Rohit Anand that 484 families have been sanctioned for resettlement in Serou and Sugnu and 276 houses are under construction. Most of the houses are nearing completion stage and displaced families are slowly moving back to their homes.
He added that those who were in relief camps in Kakching Headquarters are also moving back to Serou, either to their own houses or to their relatives’ houses and are waiting for financial assistance for reconstruction.
