Bihar: Agriculture Machineries Banks to be established in 1000 PACS in 2025-26

Patna, Mar 18 (UNI) Bihar Cooperative Minister Prem Kumar on Tuesday said that agriculture machineries banks would be established in 1000 Primary Agriculture Cooperative Societies (PACS) during the financial year 2025-26.
Kumar while replying to debate on budgetary demand of his department for the financial year 2025-26 in assembly said that state government had decided to provide latest agriculture machineries to farmers to boost their yielding of agro produce.
Agriculture machineries banks would be set up in one thousand PACS during the financial year 2025-26 for the purpose, he informed.
"For construction of warehouses, Rs 150 crores have been earmarked for fiscal 2025-26 which will increase existing storage capacity by two lakhs metric tonnes," Minister said and noted that increased storage capacity would help in more procurement of agriculture produce from the farmers.
All assistance was being given to farmers to use quality seeds and latest technology for boosting yields, he further said.
"To ensure better coordination among administrative offices, audit offices and cooperative banks, Sahkar Bhawan (cooperative building) will be constructed in all divisional and district headquarters of the state ", Kumar said, adding that 20 Sahkar Bhawans had been constructed in district and divisional headquarters so far while 16 such buildings were being constructed.
Dissatisfied with reply of the Minister, the opposition staged a walkout from the House.
Later, budgetary demand of Rs 1,231.91 crores of cooperative department for the financial year 2025-26 was passed by voice vote in absence of opposition.
