Meghalaya committed to protect people's rights along Assam border: Tynsong

Shillong, Mar 3 (UNI) Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong on Monday said the state government is committed to protecting the rights and security of the people residing along the inter-state border with Assam.
Replying to a call attention moved by ruling United Democratic Party (UDP) legislator, Nujorki Sungoh in the Assembly, Tynsong said, several efforts have been made to resolve the border dispute, involving both the Assam and Meghalaya government and community leaders.
The Deputy Chief Minister informed the Assembly that the state government has sanctioned seven border outposts to resolve the border disputes and to ensure peace and security along the inter-state border.
