Arunachal-Assam boundary talks moving in a positive direction: CM Khandu

Itanagar, Mar 10 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Monday informed the Assembly that the ongoing talks on Assam-Arunachal boundary matter is “moving forward in a positive direction”, exuding confidence that the vexed boundary dispute between the two neighbouring states will be resolved ‘soon’ under the tutelage of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Replying to a supplementary question raised by senior BJP member Wanglin Lowangdong, Khandu said that as desired by the Prime Minister to go for out-of-court settlement of the long-standing boundary row between the two Northeastern states, lots of progress had been achieved thus far.
“As of now, boundary disputes in five districts – West Kameng, East Siang, Lohit, Tirap, and Namsai – have been resolved, while disputes in six districts are still under review by the reconstituted Regional Committees,” the Chief Minister said.
