Manipur Police recover arms, four held

Imphal, Feb 23 (UNI) Manipur Police have arrested four persons, recovered arms and destroyed poppy cultivation over four acres in Tengnoupal, Bishnupur and Imphal East districts in separate operations, an official said on Sunday.
Hand grenades, 9 mm pistols and other materials were seized from Phunal Maring Village in Imphal-East District. In another operation at the border town of Moreh under Tengnoupal district, improvised explosive devices and pompi shells were seized.
Police said a man was nabbed at Bishnupur district for allegedly threatening state forces. mainly commando personnel, for arresting village volunteers.
