Agartala, Apr 13 (UNI) A local court in Tripura on Sunday sent to jail seven Bangladeshi nationals, who were arrested for illegally entering Indian territory by crossing the international border in Belonia.
According to police sources, the group entered India on Saturday night through the Amjad Nagar area, which is adjacent to Belonia town in South Tripura district.
“A team led by Belonia Sub-Divisional Police Officer Rishabh and Officer-in-Charge of Belonia Police Station, Shibu Ranjan Dey, intercepted a car at a naka checking point in the Manurmukh Tabla Chowmuhoni area. Upon checking the vehicle, seven Bangladeshi nationals were found and subsequently detained,” a police official said.
