TB fatal if not treated: Manipur Director Health

Imphal, Mar 1 (UNI) Dr Chambo Gonmei, Director Health Services,Manipur said Tuberculosis (TB) is still prevalent in India and every two minutes a person dies of TB.
Speaking at a workshop on 100 Day TB Elimination Campaign at DIPR on Saturday organized by Editors’ Guild Manipur, Directorate of Health Services and SHS, NHM, Manipur, Gonmei said in 2023, 25.5 lakh TB patients were diagnosed in India and 3.2 lakh people died due to TB.
B Kakchingtabam, President AMWJU, and Khogendra Khomdram , President EGM spoke about the role of the media in making people aware of TB. Dr Hemlata Thokchom, State TB officer spoke on the elimination programme, Kiranmala Thangjam on the media strategy and A Mobi on media as a facilitator.
