Eight nabbed in Manipur, arms surrendered

Imphal, Feb 22 (UNI) Manipur Police along with security forces in Manipur, arrested 8 individuals and recovered 7 arms, including 2 rifles and 5 IEDs, during search operations across multiple districts.
Police said that eight members of two militant outfits were apprehended on Saturday.
Large numbers of arms and ammunition were surrendered. Manipur Governor A K Bhalla had asked all to surrender arms on Thursday last.
Security Forces arrested six alleged cadres of KCP (Ibungo Ngangom) from Koutruk Makha Leikai Church under Lamshang-PS, Imphal West District. They were identified as Suraj, Leishemba, Khedasana, Yaiphaba, Leishemba, and Kenedy.
Manipur Police arrested two alleged active members of the G5 Organisation from the Imphal East District area. They were identified as Yamba and Netaji.
During a search operation at Imphal West and Tengnoupal districts, including the sacred abode of Lord Koubru, large numbers of arms and ammunition were seized.
At the SP-Kakching office, Kangpokpi police station, large numbers of arms and ammunition were surrendered.
