Trinamool with Centre on issues of internal and external affairs post-Pahalgam attacks : Mamata

Kolkata, May 5 (UNI) West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday reiterated that they are with the Union government on the issues of internal and external security,
" We have clearly said our party (Trinamool Congress) is with the government on the issues of internal and external security. We are not doing divide and rule here, " the TMC supremo told reporters as she is visiting Murshidabad to see the situation there.
She also talked to the people, affected during Waqf protests on April 11 and April 12.
Banerjee would halt at Berhampur and hold an administrative meeting there. She will also go to Dhulian and Suti on Tuesday to meet the people.
" I could have gone to Murshidabad earlier , but if there is no peace and stability, we should not go there and disturb. Today I am going there because it is now stable. I will reach Berhampur and hold a review meeting. Tomorrow I will visit Dhulian and provide the necessary compensation to the people whose houses and shops have been damaged."
Banerjee's visit to Murshidabad by roads happened nearly three weeks after the border district witnessed bloody communal violence during the protest against the Waqf (Amendment) Act. The protest on April 11 turned violent, leading to two deaths, several injuries, and mass displacement.
Banerjee said she would go by roads since the helicopter travel would be dangerous owing to weather.
On the raging Digha Jagannath temple controversy, Banerjee said they respect the temple of Puri and also respect Jagannath Dham." We respect the temple in Puri and we also respect Jagannath Dham . Kalli temples and Gurduwaras are everywhere across the country. Temples are there and in all places. Why is so much anger on the issue," asked the Bengal CM, who was present during the inauguration of Jagannath temple in Digha on April 30.
