Cabinet approves 2 pc additional DA w.e.f. January 1

New Delhi, Mar 28 (UNI) The Government on Friday approved the release of an additional instalment of Dearness Allowance (DA) to Central government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) to pensioners with effect from January 1, 2025 representing an increase of 2 per cent over the existing rate.
The existing rate of the DA is 53 per cent of the basic pay/pension, the Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said in a statement.
The Government said that the decision has been take with a view to compensate the emplpoyees against price rise.

New Delhi, Apr 2 (UNI) Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday condemned the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, describing it as a "weapon aimed at marginalising Muslims and usurping their personal laws and property rights."
Gandhi alleged that the legislation was pushed by the RSS, BJP, and their allies and is part of a larger attack on the Constitution and undermined the rights of religious minorities.
