One killed, 30 injured as bus overturns in Bahraich

Bahraich (UP), May 20 (UP) A driver was killed and 30 others were injured when a double-decker bus overturned in Kotwali Ujhani area of Badaun district in Uttar Pradesh, a senior police officer said here on Tuesday.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Brijesh Kumar Singh said that the private double-decker bus was going from Bareilly to Jaipur when it suddenly went out of control and overturned near the village of Dehmu on Kachla Road at around 1 AM on Monday.
He said that there were about 55 passengers in the bus. "About 30 passengers, including women and children, were injured in this accident. "All the injured were immediately admitted to CHC Ujhani and Medical College, Badaun," he said.
The SSP said that the bus driver Sultan (48) died during treatment, while other injured passengers are undergoing treatment. "Given the serious condition of some of the injured, they have been referred to Saifai Medical College, while passengers with minor injuries have been discharged," he said.
