HP: Ministers, MLAs get 24 pc salary hike

Shimla, Mar 28 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Assembly on Friday passed bills raising the salaries and allowances of the Chief Minister, Ministers, Speaker, Deputy Speaker, and MLAs by 24 percent and tying the revised emoluments to the price index, ensuring an automatic hike every five years.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, who also holds the finance portfolio, tabled three separate bills proposing the salary and allowance revisions. The hike is expected to increase the financial burden on the state exchequer by approximately Rs 25 crore per annum.
Now the Chief Minister will get a salary of Rs 1,15,000, while Cabinet ministers would earn Rs 95,000 per month
