Haryana: BJP leader shot dead in Gohana

Sonepat, Mar 15 (UNI) A BJP leader was shot dead by his neighbour on Friday night, sources said on Saturday.
Sources said Surender Jawahar, a resident of Jawahar village in Gohana sub-division and BJP's Mundlana division president was near his home, when at 2100 hrs, a neighbour came with a pistol and shot him twice.
Jawahar was rushed to Bhagat Phool Singh government medical college and hospital at Khan Pur Kalan village, where he was declared dead on arrival.
Sources said that a property dispute might be the reason. Another possibility was a dispute over the village chief post. His wife Komal had contested the elections for the post of "Sarpanch" unsuccessfully. However, filed a case in the court and on the court's direction, Sonepat DC removed her rival from the post.
Police investigation was on.
