Saharanpur (UP), Mar 22 (UNI) A local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader shot his three children, including two sons, dead and injured his wife in the Gangoh area of Saharanpur district in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday, police sources said here.
Police sources said that the incident took place in Sangatheda village on Nanauta Gangoh road, at around 2 PM where BJP leader Yogesh Rohila (40) shot his wife and his three children daughter Shraddha (10), sons Devansh (7) and Shivansh (6) with his licensed pistol. "Shraddha and Devansh died on the spot," they said.
Police sources said that Rohila's wife Neha and son Shivansh sustained serious injuries and were admitted to the district hospital. "Shivansh died at the district hospital during treatment," they said.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rohit Singh Sajwan said that on Saturday afternoon there was an altercation between the couple, during which Yogesh Rohila shot his wife and three children by putting his licensed pistol on their heads, in which two children died on the spot.
He said that the police took his wife Neha and son Shivansh to the district hospital where Shivans succumbed to injuries. He said that Rohila remained at the spot after committing the crime and informed the police.
The SSP said that when questioned about the incident, Rohila said that he had doubts over his wife's character and that is why he fired bullets at her. "He has been arrested by the police. Neha's condition is said to be serious," he said.
