MP: Former BJP MLA Surendra Nath Singh passes away

Bhopal, Mar 11 (UNI) Former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Surendra Nath Singh passed away here on Tuesday morning after a prolonged illness.
Shri Singh was popularly known as 'Mamma' in Bhopal. He was admitted to a private hospital in the capital for some time. He breathed his last early this morning.
In 2013, he was elected to the Vidhan Sabha from Bhopal Vidhan Sabha seat. However, he lost the 2018 election. He did not contest the last election. He has also served as the Bhopal district president of the BJP and chairman of the Bhopal Development Authority.
Expressing grief over Singh's death, BJP state president and Lok Sabha MP Vishnu Dutt Sharma said, "The news of the demise of former BJP district president of Bhopal city, former MLA and former BDA president Surendranath Singh is very sad. I pray to God to give place to the departed soul and give strength to the bereaved family to bear this grief." Om Shanti: "
