BJP govt ruined law and order in UP: Akhilesh

Lucknow, Mar 9 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government has ruined the law and order of the state and corruption is at its peak.
In a statement issued here, Akhilesh alleged, "Corruption is spread from top to bottom in government departments. Looting and scams are going on at every level. Corrupt people and criminals have the protection of the government and they are openly distributing government money. Black marketing is going on in full swing."
He said that corruption has reached such a level in this government that journalists who expose cases of corruption are getting threats. "They are even murdered. On Saturday, a journalist who exposed corruption was murdered in Sitapur. No one is safe in the BJP government. The broad daylight murder of journalist Raghavendra Bajpai in Sitapur exposes the BJP government's zero tolerance on law and order," he said.
The SP chief said that the BJP government has spread anarchy in Uttar Pradesh. "The government is silent on the bullets riddled on journalist Raghavendra Bajpai. If a journalist is not safe, one can only imagine what the condition of the common people would be. It is surprising that the BJP government itself is working on the policy of promoting lies and loot," he said.
He claimed that the Chief Minister gave a false account of the person who earned Rs 30 crores in the Maha Kumbh in the House, but did not even express sympathy for those who lost their loved ones, nor did he tell the number of people who died in the stampede in the Maha Kumbh.
Akhilesh said that when the government itself will stand in the assembly and glorify history-sheeters and criminals, then how will the law and order improve? "The government itself does not tire of protecting fraudsters, thugs, corrupt and criminals. On the other hand, it treats those who believe in democracy and the Constitution like enemies," he alleged.
He said that the BJP government threatens journalists for showing the truth, and tortures them in various ways. "It leaves no opportunity to crush freedom of expression. Those who speak the truth and show the truth are put in jail. False cases are filed against them. The entire system of the BJP government is engaged in corruption and suppressing the truth," he said.
He said that criminals are fearless in the BJP government. "All the claims of the government on law and order and corruption are false. The public will remove the BJP government in 2027 and free the state from its jungle raj," he said.
