Two separatists groups cut all ties with Hurriyat

Srinagar, Mar 25 (UNI) In a major setback to separatists movement in Jammu and Kashmir, two important organisations -- Jammu Kashmir People's Movement and Democratic Political Movement have severed all their ties with All Party Hurriyat Conference (APHC).
This umbrella secessionist organisation has already become inactive in defunct the Valley after the revocation of Article 370 in August, 2019.
Leader of the DPM Mohammad Shafi Reshi had announced his party's complete disassociation the hardline faction (Geelani Group) of All Parties Hurriyat Conference.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday said that separatism has become history in Jammu and Kashmir, crediting the unifying policies of the Narendra Modi-led government for dismantling separatist sentiment in the region.

Taking to social media, Shah highlighted that two organizations linked to the Hurriyat Conference have severed ties with separatism, marking a major shift in the political landscape of J&K.

“I welcome this step towards strengthening Bharat's unity and urge all such groups to come forward and shed separatism once and for all,” Home Minister said on X.

Calling it a "big victory" for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a developed, peaceful, and unified Bharat, Shah said the move further solidifies the government's commitment to national integration in Jammu and Kashmir.
