Helicopter crashes near Uttarkashi in Uttarakhand

Dehradun (Uttarakhand), May 8 (UNI) A helicopter crashed at the Gangotri Dham road in Uttarakhand's Uttarkashi district on Thursday morning, government officials said.

The cause of the crash and the number of casualties are not yet known.

Sources in the State Disaster Management Authority said the helicopter crashed near the Bhagirathi river below Nag Mandir ahead of Gangnani.

A police team along with personnel of the Disaster Management's Quick Reaction Team (QRT) along with an ambulance have been dispatched to the place, sources added.
