35.48 lakh MT of paddy purchased from farmers during Kharif: Andhra minister

Vijayawada, Mar 28 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Minister for Civil Supplies Nadendla Manohar on Friday announced that the government has purchased 35,48,724 metric tonnes of paddy produce and steps have been taken to supply fine quality rice to the welfare hostels.
The 227th board meeting of the AP Civil Supplies Limited was held in the civil supplies office here on Friday presided over by the Minister. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister revealed that 35,48,724 metric tonnes of paddy produce was purchased from 5,61,216 farmers, adding that Rs 8,138 crore was credited into the accounts of farmers.
