Holi celebrated in Telangana with enthusiasm and energy

Hyderabad, Mar 14 (UNI) Holi, the festival of colours, was celebrated across Telangana on Friday with traditional excitement and cheerfulness.
The festival, which signifies the victory of good over evil and heralds the arrival of spring, brought vibrant scenes to various parts of Hyderabad, its twin city Secunderabad, and other regions of the state.
Revellers joyously smeared each other with colours, accompanied by singing, dancing, and the rhythmic beats of drums.
In several localities, people lit bonfires, symbolising the triumph of good as they burned effigies of the demoness Holika, sister of the demon king Hiranyakashyapu, marking the beginning of the Holi festivities.
Shops selling "gulal" and other colours witnessed brisk sales as people enthusiastically purchased items for the celebrations.
Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy conveyed their warm wishes to the people of the state on the joyous occasion of Holi.
