Road map on oil resources development is on cards: Oil India director

Kakinada, Apr 4(UNI) The Director (E&D) Oil India Limited Saloma Yomdo on Friday said the country has 26 sedimentary basins spread over a total area of 3.36 million square kilometers and keeping this in mind a road map on exploration and development of oil resources was being prepared.
Participating as the chief guest at the 13th annual convention of Federation of Indian petroleum Industry (FIPI) organised by the JNTUK students chapter of FIPI, Yomdo said India was in the third position in oil consumption.
"While 13.2 BOE (Barrel of equivalent) is consumed globally, our country consumes 4.7 BOE. Keeping in view the situation, plans were under way for undertaking energy initiative programmes jointly with educational institutions in the country," he added. UNI KNR AKT SSP
