Congress is a party without a head: BJP's Narayanaswamy in jibe on 'gayab' post

Congress is a party without a head: BJP's Narayanaswamy in jibe on 'gayab' post

Bengaluru, Apr 30 (UNI) The Congress is a party without a head, and its recent portrayal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as "headless" only underscores its own leadership vacuum, BJP leader Chalavadi Narayanaswamy said on Wednesday, in a sharp political broadside against the grand old party.
Addressing a press conference here, Narayanaswamy said, "The way they showed the Prime Minister without a head is disgraceful. But more than an insult to Modi ji, it reflects their own state of affairs. Congress has no leadership. It is a party without a head."
He said this symbolism was a "self-inflicted wound" that exposed the party’s internal confusion and lack of coherence. "The so-called High Command has no command. In Karnataka, Congress leaders speak in their own individual voices. There is no unity, no discipline, no central authority," he said.
Taking aim at AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, the BJP leader questioned who was actually running the party. "Kharge ji says he will speak to the High Command — but who is the High Command? Isn’t the party President supposed to be the High Command? Why is he speaking like someone else is in control?"
He also criticised senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh, referring to a media report where Ramesh claimed that Rahul Gandhi had instructed party members as party president not to speak about issues related to war and Pakistan. "Then who is the real President? Is it Rahul Gandhi or Kharge? They must make this clear to the people," Narayanaswamy demanded.
The BJP leader said the Congress had resorted to calling the Prime Minister Gayab (disappeared), but warned that the label might boomerang. "They say Modi ji is Gayab, but it may well be the Congress that disappears in the next election. People are rejecting them across the country."
He also said, "The Congress today seems to be more popular in Pakistan than in India. The people of this country are now completely against them. Their colours have been exposed."
Narayaswamy stated that the Congress party's latest political messaging — including the depiction of the PM — only underlines the party's confusion and desperation. "They have no head, no direction. This is not just poor taste — it is political bankruptcy," he said.
