Telangana budget: Amer Ali Khan welcomes Rs 3,591 cr allocation for minority welfare

Hyderabad, Mar 19 (UNI) Congress MLC Amer Ali Khan welcomed the Telangana government's decision to allocate Rs 3,591 crore for the Minority Welfare Department in the 2025-26 budget.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, he described the budget as a reflection of the Congress government’s commitment to ensuring the security, welfare, and socio-economic empowerment
of minorities.

Amer Ali Khan hailed the unprecedented allocation of Rs 840 crore for minority self-employment schemes, calling it a historic move that would empower unemployed youth and promote financial independence.

He praised the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam Scheme, which offers up to Rs 4 lakh in financial assistance for unemployed individuals from SC, ST, BC, and minority communities, describing it as a game-changer that encourages entrepreneurship and job creation.

The MLC also commended the government's focus on education, particularly the integration of Minority Residential Schools into the Young India Residential Schools initiative, which aims to
provide quality education and career-building opportunities for minority students.

He lauded the government's continued support for Hajj pilgrimage expenses, highlighting that the 2024 Hajj saw a record 11,446 devotees from Telangana.
He urged for improved subsidy and assistance programs to ensure economically weaker pilgrims receive adequate support.

While praising the budget allocation, Khan stressed the need for efficient implementation to avoid delays in scholarships and self-employment grants.
He expressed confidence that the Congress government's efforts under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy would bring meaningful progress for Telangana’s minorities and serve as a model for other states.
