TN govt taking steps for safe return of 52 students studying in J and K

Chennai, May 9 (UNI) As the strains in India-Pakistan ties escalated following
terror and military attacks in Jammu and Kashmir and the launch of Operation
Sindoor, the Tamil Nadu government on Friday said it was taking all steps to
the ensure safe return of 52 TN students studying in that State.
Following a request made by their parents, Chief Minister M K Stalin directed
Minorities and Non Resident Tamils Welfare Minister S M Nasar and Pudukottai
District Additional Collector Aftaf Rahul to coordinate with the J an K government
and ensure safety of the students.
Since the airports in J and K were completely shut and flight services suspended
and the situation not conducive to safely transport them by road, necessary steps
would be taken to being them back to the state once the situation improved, an
official release said.
