Sangli, Mar 16 (UNI) Maharashtra and District Guardian Minister, Chandrakant Patil, on Sunday made a public offer to Independent MP Vishal Patil, who was elected from Sangli Lok Sabha constituency, to join the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) for speedy development of the district.
Making the offer in a press conference here, the minister said if MP Patil comes over to BJP, the tally of party's members in parliament will also go up, which will help in carrying out various development works in the district.
Meanwhile, reacting to minister Patil's offer, MP Patil retorted that since he has raised many issues pertaining to the district in parliament, the former must have liked his way of working and thought that he was doing a good job.
But the Independent MP made it clear that he was not keen to join BJP and made an appeal to all political parties that they should come together for development of the district.
MP Patil, originally a Congress worker, was elected as an Independent MP by defeating Sanjaykaka Patil (BJP) and Chandrahar Patil (Shiv Sena-UBT).
