Maha: Shivaji Maharaj's descendant dismisses BJP leader Nitesh Rane claim about Muslims

Pune, Mar 12 (UNI) Responding to Maharashtra minister and BJP leader Nitesh Rane's claim that there was no Muslim in Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's army, Shivaji Maharaj's 13th descendant and MP Udayanraje Bhosale on Wednesday dismissed the same, saying that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj never discriminated between Hindus and Muslims.
While making it clear that he did not hear Nitesh Rane's statement, Udayanraje further said, "Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's concept was equality of all religions. If such discrimination had been made, we would have been in slavery of the Mughals."
Reiterating that Shivaji Maharaj never discriminated between Hindus and Muslims, he said, "If Nitesh Rane wants to say that Aurangzeb is being glorified, then dig up his grave. I have said many times that he came with intention to invade. Don't forget that if it were not for Shivaji Maharaj and our ancestors, we would still be in slavery."
