Patna, May 17 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday inaugurated a Multimodal Hub and Sub-Way near Patna junction, providing facilities for vehicle parking and pedestrians to reach from GPO roundabout to Patna junction easily without difficulties of heavy traffic hazard.
Kumar inaugurated the Multimodal Hub and Sub-Way, which would immensely boost the infrastructural facilities for people of Patna, having excellent facilities for parking their vehicles.
After parking their vehicles at Multimodal Hub, people could easily reach Patna junction through the Sub-Way using a travellator. Underground passage of about 440 metres was equipped with all modern facilities like an escalator, lift, proper lighting, and air-conditioning, he added.
" I had earlier inspected on several occasions during its construction and issued a directive to complete the project on time ", the Chief Minister said, adding that pedestrians would feel very easy in reaching Patna Junction from GPO roundabout.
The project was part of improving infrastructural facilities visualised under the theme of developing Patna as a Smart City, he added.
Sub-Way of 440 metres in length has been constructed at the expense of Rs 84.83 crores by the Urban Development and Housing department. Under this project, a Multimodal Hub had also been constructed for Rs 66.81 crores, where vehicles could be parked.
